Project Description

Seeking an Android developer to work remotely developing an Android UI in Java to replace an existing UI. The application will target android API/SDK level 11 and higher.
Candidate must understand standard and recent Android UI design patterns including the proper use of navigation drawers, action bars, Action overflow, pop-up notifications, full screen views, notification templates with actions, background processes or asynchronous tasks, spinners, pickers, progress bars/indicators, and indexing scroll. Candidate must understand common Android Java classes used in interface design and front-end development such as Fragment, DrawerLayout, FrameLayout, PreferenceScreen, AsyncTask, and others.
This requirement requires redesigning and building a new interface in Java but does *not* require integrating the new design with the existing application. Upon completion of the project the company’s internal developers will integrate the new design with the existing functionality of the Android app.
The developer will be expected to contribute between 10 – 20 hours per week. The project is expected to last between 4 – 6 weeks. Satisfactory completion of the project requirements may lead to further development opportunities for the same app.
This opportunity is available only directly to contractors under 1099. We do not consider third party development firms or cooperative development teams. This requirement is for individual contributors. This is a remote-work opportunity. The developer is free to choose his/her own working hours but must be available at an agreed upon time daily. The developer must be accountable for the hours claimed toward the project.
