Project Description

The project is to port a native iPhone app, which was developed in house, into a native Android app. All source code/documentation for the iPhone app (i.e. XCode objective-C project source plus images, graphics, etc) will be provided and the development team of the original iOS app will manage the project.

The team will be available to answer questions, to explain design decisions (i.e. solutions chosen for the iOS version), and to discuss issues on a daily basis. The final project deliverable needs to include all source code/documentation etc so the in house team can support the product. There is considerable scope for product enhancements and additional functionality in future versions, so if the Freelancer is successful (bug free code, implemented to spec, on time/budget, etc) there will likely be follow on development work.

The app requires building 20+ individual screens, including:

Geographical map screens, requiring reverse-geocode & point-to-point route and distance requests to Google servers, executed asynchronously and displayed near-real-time as the user drags the map around. User current location. Continuously-moving map annotations.

Lifecycle of a Customer order: Request Product -> Review Offers -> Choose Offer -> Await Confirmation -> Await Delivery -> Accept Product -> Give Feedback -> Complete Transaction

Continuous communication with an application server via JSON, using either URL-polling or push messages via an open stream connection with the server depending on the type of communication.

Persistence on the client phone of a data object graph comprising 3-4 types, including support for querying relationships (iOS version uses Core Data)

Login/register account screens (with SMS verification), option to "connect with Facebook" (i.e. using Facebook API)

Address-book screens

User profile screens

Facebook integration to (i) post to wall (ii) “like” app page (iii) invite friends (iv) “check in” at your location

Animation of different sections within screens, e.g. sliding up/down

The iOS implementation has 90+ classes
