Project Description

Main function of the app is having a map on the screen with a track so the user can follow the track. The map should move dynamically so that user position is always centered + should have speed dependent autozoom functionality. Besides this the app is also a social media channel connecting to a website (also to be built). Users have profiles with some non common attributes specific for the user group in mind. Additional features:

- Import of GPX and KML files as tracks

- A graphical editor to edit tracks (only deleting portions of the track, not changing the track)

- Logging of GPS activity as tracks

- Facebook integration (possibility to post activity)

- Picture and Video taking

- Music Controls through swiping the screen

- Possibility to "call" other apps through URL Schemes

If successful, next versions of the app should also have:

- Possibility to "call" a conversion function through some kind of service on the website (still to be built also)

- Use of offline maps (probably using OpenStreetMaps)

I have the main design ready in Xcode as a storyboard + many of the graphics (icons / app icon). Now I need someone to fill out the code behind it. Much of it is pretty standard I think, however there are some specific features that you as a developer should have (at least some) experience in:

- Maps and displaying tracks on maps

- Logging of GPS information

- Understand Tracks and the GPX and KML file format and specifications

- Syncing the user profile and user activities with the users account on the website (still to be built)

- Facebook integration so users can share activities with friends
