I want to create an IOS port of my Android application. It will retrieve a .html file from the web based off of the date, and display it in a webview. It should cache the files locally. It should also have a menu item with options to goto a specific date, share with friends (email the webview contents), and option to enable swipe gestures for previous and next (loads the previous day / next day into webview). I am open to the pageview as an implementation as well if it is feasible. Another thing is it should load the locally cached .html file for the date if it exists, if not it downloads it.
I would like to add additional features as well, such as a rating system (stars to rate that can be stored locally in a db or hash), and categories that are parsed from a file that has the format of "date,category"--for example "20130414,0" There are categories 0-9, and the file goes from oldest to newest.
Also, the dates can go no further back than 20110101 and can go no further forward than today's date. So users cannot preview the next days .html file in advance.
I am willing to handle some of the work necessary, I can create a lot of the UI aspects, but have little background with Objective C. Willing to work with you on this. Also I have my apps that are available on Android that will give you a good idea of what I am looking for, and ideas for implementation.
I would like to stay below $500 on budget. Also, the categories are in a file from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom. I mistakenly had that backwards in initial description. The categories file can be downloaded and then parsed into an array or hashkey where the date is the key and the category is the hash. I currently do something similar for the android application.
