Project Description

Hi,

Here's what I need. I'm designing an app that I need to be scalable, with the ability to be able to easily add more cities and locations within each city. For each location, I'll need to be able to pin-drop them onto a map so the user can see where they are in location to the pin they're looking for. The user will need to be able to cross-reference or search by different features. For each individual location, I need the user to be able to pull up a description for that particular location with the ability to call the location from within the app (well, click on the phone number to call them).

None of the features I need are "New technology", but what's most important is that the infrastructure be built and hopefully on my end, I can add the additional cities and locations within that city. Because that's a lot of work, I'd prefer to do that myself on my own time, prior to launching the app.

Let's use a Cars For Sale app as an example (though that's not the space I'm looking to be in). The user can select their city, then search by 5-10 different search options (just one search at a time, not multiple searches, unless that's easy enough for you to do). So, they might say, I'm looking for Honda's for sale, and all the locations selling Honda's will appear in a list and a map with pin-drops (and a drop showing their current location). They can pull up a location and get information on that dealer, call them, get directions, see a picture of the dealership and a few pics of cars from that dealer.

Or, they can search by SUV's, and get the same type of results. Or they can search for Honda SUV's and results will come up for locations selling Honda SUV's. You get the idea...

Because there will eventually be an enormous amount of data, I don't know whether the best approach is a straight-out app, or to have an app that's a web interface. What do you think? I'd rather it not be a 100mb download. Which is easier for you to design?

Again, I'm looking for basically a one-city design, but with a back-office database that allows me to add more cities and locations within cities on my own.

And I'll need to be able to easily add/delete info and pics from each individual location.

That's about it. I look forward to talking more with you and seeing your work, expected time table to build this, and cost bid for this project.

Thanks!

Michael
