Project Description

We need a developer with knowledge of MySQL and a scripting language to create a script that will scrape data from online search results to create reports for our clients, as well as storing the data in a database. The reports will feature graphs and excerpts from web pages (we will show you a sample).

After an initial set-up process by our user, the script will automatically search online each day for pre-set search keywords. Using Alexa’s API, the script will also gather traffic information about the websites found in the search and use it to allocate a website’s ‘influence’. The script will then compile a list of results for our user to edit and select for inclusion into the report. The script should then take the selected search results and use them to create a report with graphs and data for our user to edit. The data from the search results will also be imported into our FileMaker database. The script must be able to save and run multiple search terms and requirements for our different clients.

We are looking for someone who can do this quite quickly, and will supply much more detailed information if we choose you.
