HerbaControl is an application that is database-driven and gives the user the ability to add his own forms within the app through an online portal. The app is directed on agricultural related companies who grow plants for consumers. At this moment I am developing this platform for a friend of mine who has such a company.
The Growers Process
One grower can have a lot of different species of plants. These species are delivered by young plant growers (Suppliers) with thousands of different species and every month new ones are added. Every plant that has for example a different color is a different species. The purpose of the app is to monitor the quality of the different species. Sometimes there are 1000 species in one greenhouse.
The grower wants to be able to walk through the plants and monitor periodically all species on their quality. The reason why he should do this is, a better quality is better money when the plant is sold to consumers. When the grower monitors the plant he knows which plants he should order the next time he needs to put an order for new plants at his supplier. This monitoring can increase the profit and decrease the fallout margins (bad plants die more often during production and can’t be sold to consumers).
A grower (user) can subscribe himself on the portal that should be developed for www.herbacontrol.com. On this platform he can manage the available functions in his app. These functions exist out of managing users that are able to log into the app, managing his company profile, setting up his production process (phases) and the forms that are related to the different phases.
When he finished setting up his process and added the users he can download the app to his iOS device. When he uses his username and password he get the app filled with the process he entered. The app makes uses a side bar navigation. The user has the ability to add three different production processes (tab 1, tab 2, tab 3). In the future more will become possible, but probably for additional costs.
The database category shows a few different options, like the last added, database tab 1, database tab 2 and database tab 3. When for example database tab 1 is opened there is a search option to search on different fields. The field you can search on are appointed during building the forms on the portal. When a specific input is opened the user has the ability to email this data to a supplier. The information that is send preferably as a pdf of jpg in the same layout as it looks like in the app.
The Help category provides the opportunity to the user to send an feedback email or check on the about page what is changed within the app.
