Project Description

I'm looking for an experienced WEB programmer to work on an existing PERL/CGI website. The site is custom coded in Perl with MySQL database, and has features such as membership levels, personal profiles, ability to "post" articles as well as comment/review them, and a number of other community/social based features. Ideally, I'm looking for someone who is interested in on-going work, though at this time, the project to bid on is for the addition of a new feature:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Notepad / Critique Queue

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Notepad / Critiques Queue is a two part feature. Essentially, I want to create a personal notepad for members which they can use to create new private "notes" for themselves. These are separate from the regular articles being posted on the site, and are viewable only to them. Basically, it's like a notepad or scratch pad where you can jot down ideas or use for your 'works-in-progress'.

Free members can have 50 notes saved.

Paid members can have unlimited notes saved.

The second part of the feature allows members to take one of their private notes and add it to an anonymous critique system (The Critique Queue). This is a private 'review' system where members will be able to post 300 character excerpts of their note and ask other members to "critique" it. All posts and critiques will be anonymous. The excerpts (and the critiques received) will only be viewable to the author who made the note.

Free members must critique 5 notes to post 1 of their notes to the Critique Queue

Paid members must critique 3 notes to post 1 of their notes to the Critique Queue

Sections Needed:

- A page where members can view a list of all their notes, with ability to [view/edit/queue/delete] their notes.

- The add to "queue" page will have the note and a text box for them to ask the reviewer a question (i.e. what do you think of this?)

- The "critiques" page will rotate queued notes for members to critique (includes excerpt, comment box, and 1-10 rating)

- The "view" page where they can view the note, as well as the anonymous critiques they received for that note

(Now Novel dot com) has a VERY similar feature to what I'm looking for. You can see it in action on their site by accessing their "Scribble Pad".

I will provide full details, as well as mockup pages and HTML. All you have to do is code it and make it work :)

Thanks for looking!
