I know a bit about optimizing linux servers for performance, including setting up cacheing (currently xcache and memcached), optimizing mysql with mysqltuner/tuning-primer, and basic apache tweaks.
What I'm looking for is a system administrator / database administrator (DBA) at an hourly rate to correct my current knowledge, and teach me about tweaks I can make to further optimize my LAMP environment, including WHM-specific tweaks (eg. modules to enable/disable in EasyApache), and then to be on call into the future for server questions & server admin work I have.
I run CentOS 6 and cPanel/WHM, and am using vBulletin and WordPress.
Please state your past experience with optimizing servers:
- What kind of performance boosts/load reductions you've accomplished, on what environment with what apps/scripts
- Your experience with optimizing servers specifically for WordPress/vBulletin
You must be proficient in English and have Skype.
In addition to the above two experience points above, please include the text "Yes I read your description and understand I need to paste this near the top of my proposal" near the top of your proposal, and provide in your proposal one tweak that can be done to most generic LAMP environments similar to the one I am using (can be a tweak to Apache, MySQL, or anything) to either improve performance or reduce load - the less common knowledge it is, the better.
