Our website hosts a forum at
[url removed, login to view]
It currently uses the open source forum software YAF ([url removed, login to view]) version 188.8.131.52 which uses SQL Server as its data store. We have some membership integration from our main site into the forum. At the moment we are using SQL Server 2008 Express (free edition) which is struggling to keep up with the demands.
We already used MongoDB for our main story site so we want to port the forum software to use this instead. We need to know costs for re-writing the data access layer that will call into MongoDB instead of SQL Server. We will provide the source code to the forum software. All of the logic from the stored procedures/triggers will need to be replicated in code (c#, asp.net web forms).
Before the project starts we need to discuss database design and migration path from SQL Server.
