I need someone capable of creating (from scratch) the infrastructure for my multi-user VRML environment, similar to Active Worlds. To get a better understanding of my specific needs please visit Active Worlds ([url removed, login to view]), download their free interface, and enter their VRML ground zero.
While I’m not looking to duplicate their exact environment, I do want all of the form and functions for my own VRML builds. If you also visit [url removed, login to view] you’ll be able to read the stats of what this type of software can do, as they are the ones who’ve licensed it to Active Worlds.
A God admin section where only the highest level support team can make any and all changes to the VRML system.
A lower level system for admin.
It will support unlimited simultaneous users.
The for users to purchase their own “world/community” and build in it (they alone would have an ID and password to edit their world. They would also be able to grant build privileges to others.
The ability for users to import their own VRML builds into their purchased world.
The capacity for object scripting. These scripts will allow objects to move (spin, rotate etc.), contain hyperlinks (when clicked certain actions will be triggered or web page will be opened), and so on.
Newsletters, community event calendars and message boards will also be included.
Some other functions will also be part of the infrastructure.
If you don’t have a background in software design and implementation, please don’t respond, as this project is massive and requires such skills.
