Web-Based Event Ticketing Manager Project - Online-Off Line Box Office System **
= PROJECT DESCRIPTION =
- Web Based Box Office System for Multiple Venues
We need a web-based system (cloud, software-as-a-service) box office software (point-of-sale system) that doesn't require complex network configuration or onsite servers, that enables our staff to sell tickets to events, monitor sales activity, and produce detailed reports.
We need to allow an unlimited number of users and computers, and be able to attach any of our optional accessories like thermal printers and be able to build a customized venue map that meets the specific requirements of the venue, with multiple configurations if needed.
The software needs to serve three main purposes that will be implemented as four modules, each with its own controlled users and administrators access:
1. Event Administration Module:
The option will be available only to an administrator to allow event creation and management.
2. Event Selection and Ticket Purchase Module:
Available for general public viewing, it allows the general public to see a list of events, select an event, select seat locations and purchase the tickets. Users will need to register to purchase tickets.
3. Reporting Module:
The software needs to generate detailed financial and accounting reports on event statistics (number of ticket sold, assistance, etc).
The following is an outline of the scope of this project:
EVENT ADMINISTRATION MODULE CAPABILITIES
- 1 EVENT ADDITION
The administration module will provide the tools to add new events using the following parameters:
1.1 Event name
1.2 Event description
1.3 Event dates
1.4 Event venue name (choose from a selection of predefined venues; initial project scope should include one venue map)
1.5 Venue link (not sure if we want this but could be useful for patrons to
find out additional information about the venue if the venue has its
own web page).
- 2. EVENT MODIFICATION: be able to add/delete event dates,
description and venue location)
- 3. EVENT PUBLISHING : this functionality allows the administrator select
the events that will be visible for user selection and ticket purchasing)
- 4. EVENT CLOSING: after an event has been presented the
administrator will be able to “close” the event (stops publication of an
event). Closing the event will take the event out of the published list
that is available to the general public but will keep information for
== EVENT SELECTION AND TICKET PURCHASE MODULE
Available to the general public
1. Main screen will display a list of events allowing the user to select a
specific event and view it in detail.
2. The event detail screen will display:
2.1. Event name
2.2. Event synopsis
2.3. Credits (directors, producers, actors, etc)
2.4. Graphics (logos, posters, etc)
3. Once an event is selected the user will be provided with:
3.1 Venue layout/map that allows selection of seating location
3.2 Option to purchase the ticket (Paypal interface is suggested)
3.3 Upon ticket purchase customer will be sent an email verification
= REPORTING MODULE
1. Ticket sales summary – event name, event date, venue name, number of seats sold, amount collected. Can select report by event name and date/time.
2. Event Inventory – event name, event dates, tickets sold.
== CRM (Customer Relationship Management ) and EMAIL MARKETING INTEGRATION =
We need to be able to build a database automatically with every patron interaction and import/export the patrons databases with history.
We need to have an Email Marketing module or Integrate with Mailchimp ( [url removed, login to view])
