The Alternative Access Tool application will provide access to and interaction with basic functionalities of a mobile phone through a simplified interface, as an alternative to the typical built-in menus of the phone.
This application is intended to provide the basis for building (at a later stage) a speech-enabled user interface by linking a text-to-speech (TtS) module to this application. For the needs of the current project, the TtS module will be replaced by a simple logging module (the Log Module) as described later in this section.
