This exciting job involves writing a Windows command line program that converts databases in the "Delta" format to the proprietary database format for an unreleased product called Percevia. The developer will be given full documentation for the two database file formats and will be required to write a utility in C# that will convert databases from one format to the other using our custom API. The developer of this program will be exposed to the lastest technogy in visual search engines and interfaces. The DELTA format (DEscription Language for TAxonomy) is a flexible and powerful method of recording taxonomic descriptions for computer processing. It has been adopted as a standard for data exchange by the International Taxonomic Databases Working Group. There are two requirements for biding on this job. 1. You must have a rating of at least 8 or better and a history of at least 2 jobs. 2. Experience with the .NET Framework is helpful. We have excellent documentation for both database formats.
