Windows Tray-Icon with loadable menu

Create a tray-icon for windows which, when clicked, opens a menu with items loaded from the registry database. The idea is to create a pop-up menu, loaded from the system tray, which contains elements that can be configured by another program. I.e. another program creates a list of elements in the registry, and the tray-menu loads and shows these elements. Each element to be shown in the menu (i.e. defined in the list in the registry) contains of an menu item text, a mouse-hover description, a command to be executed, and optionally and icon to be shown before the menu item. When a user clicks on an item in the menu, that corresponding command should be run. An example of a command could be to open internet explorer on a given web site, to call a command line program with some parameters, etc. The commands do not return any information and after clicking on an item, the menu should simply disappear. Whenever the user clicks on the tray icon, the menu elements should be reloaded from the registry (as they may have changed in the mean time). If the tray program requires compilation, it must be able to compile on Visual Studio Express (the free version) or in Linux. Further, it should run on Windows 2000, XP and Vista. Addition: It may be easier to keep the values in an XML file, thus allowing more complex commands and make it easier for other programs to change the menu (I am told Windows Vista does not allow everything to write to the Registry). Further, we would like everyone to be able to install the tray menu, i.e. also the users who do not have admin privileges. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows XP, 2000, Vista, all Service Packs and configurations
