Project Description

Hello,

1. We are looking for someone who could help us with the encoding of international languages of our websites.

We have 3 identical websites with Russian, Chinese or Arabic content:
[url removed, login to view]
[url removed, login to view]
[url removed, login to view]

In web browsers the websites are properly showing the russian/chinese/arabic text but if we view the pages source code we see that all non-latin text have been encoded to ascii format. For example if we go to [url removed, login to view] and look at the page source code we see that ???????????? ?????? (i.e. category name in website left menu) has been converted to 3@0=8G5==K9 2K?CA:. We want this page source code to show ???????????? ??????, and all other pages source code of the website to show human readable Russian, Chinese or Arabic instead of ascii.

Each website is managed via a custom CMS using CKeditor and phpMyadmin modules. We suspect the issue is coming from some charset set to "iso-8859-1" instead of "utf-8" somewhere in the code.

You would be given FTP access to the web servers and access to a control panel for the sql databases.

Once done we would ask you for a short explanation on how you managed to do it.

2. The second task is to resolve an issue within the CMS for Chinese website, which gives an error message when we try to save any existing or new Product Advertisements. The error message we receive when trying to save an existing product advertisement is:

Select count(*) from products_position Where cat_id='' and product_id='553'
Table 'vertunet.products_position' doesn't exist

and error when trying to save a new product advertisement:

insert into products_position values('','','645','999999999')
Table 'vertunet.products_position' doesn't exist

We would also ask you how you could fix it.

For those 2 tasks we will pay $40.

Regards
