Project Description

This is a project for a Drupal developer who can program in PHP to create a dynamic Select field that depends on the selection of another Select field on the same form.

1. Setup

1.1 Restore the Drupal instance archived in the two attached .gz files.

1.2 To login use username=vanilla and password=vanilla#1.

2. Important Components

2.1 'ID-Check' content type

2.1.1 Create a new node of content type 'ID-Check'.

2.1.2 Click on the 'Location' tab.

2.1.3 Under the 'Asset Selection' fieldset is the Select field 'Asset Category.'

2.1.4 Notice when you select 'Runway' or 'Taxiway' from the 'Asset Category' field a 2nd Select field appear to the right of the 'Asset Category' field.

2.2 'Asset' content type

2.2.1 Click the 'Find content' link in the upper left and you will see 12 assets listed.

2.2.2 Click the 'Edit' link of one of the assets.

2.2.3 On the 'Edit' form the 2nd field is called 'Category.' All 12 assets are either of category 'Antenna' or 'Boarding Area.'

2.3 'Asset type' taxonomy

The Category dropdown from 2.2.3 is generated from the 'Asset type' taxonomy terms.

3. Task to accomplish

3.1 Go to 2.1.4 again.

3.1 The 2nd Select field should be populated based on the selection of the 'Asset Category' and by retrieving the records from the 'Asset' content type.

3.2. I.e. if 'Antenna' is selected from the 'Asset Category' field the 2nd Select field should list the assets of category 'Antenna,' which are Antenna #1 to Antenna #5.

If 'Boarding Area' is selected the 2nd Select field should list 'Boarding Area A' to 'Boarding Area G.'

I need this solution within 24 hours of accepting this project.
