A member-run art gallery (i.e., a group with little money) needs a web interface to sign up for duty-shifts for "sitters" at the gallery. The admin needs to set up the hours that need sitters. Members can log in and select the times they will sit. The software will post the schedule as it's updated; send email to each person who has signed up before their shift; send email to admin (and others) if nobody has signed up a day/week before the shift. Openings are special shifts, so there need to be at least two types of shift; openings need more people. So, the admin should be able to define the number of people required for certain shifts. Would be good to be able to generate reports of how many hours each member has worked for past month/year. PHP is good; would be better to stay clear of SQL/databases because I'm not sure of privileges on server. Maybe the coder has some good ideas.
## Deliverables
I'd want the means to mount a working calendar. This can be either code and instructions or an installer. I'd prefer the thing to be open source and stay that way. So, I don't know about the stuff below, which was filled in on this form. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
## Platform
UNIX, most likely. I'm trying to set this up for the Gallery. If necessary I might put this calendar on another server with Unix, PHP, MySQL, and the usual stuff.
## Deadline information
Here's the gallery's url and their completely inadequate, hand-coded schedule pages. [login to view URL] [login to view URL]
