Project Description

This project can be done very quickly by someone well-versed in PHP.

I need a PHP script to be run via cron job that will:

* Check a POP3 email account and grab all new waiting mail

* Parse the emails (they will be in one of two formats)

* Save the parsed data to a MySQL table

This is the SQL needed for the table:

CREATE TABLE `articles` (

`articleid` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,

`title` varchar(100) NOT NULL default '',

`body` text NOT NULL,

`keywords` varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',

`raw` text NOT NULL,

`author` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '',

`added` timestamp NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,

PRIMARY KEY (`articleid`)

) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

There are two sample emails in this zip file:

[url removed, login to view]

The emails will come from isnare or articlemarketer -- they are articles and your job is to parse title, body and author name from the emails and put into the correct fields.

Nothing will go into the keywords field (that's for later use) and you will store the raw data (unparsed) of the email in the "raw" column.

When the script runs it also posts a record to a table called events. This is the code for that table:

CREATE TABLE `events` (

`eventid` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,

`site` varchar(50) NOT NULL default 'Sonic Toolkit',

`tool` varchar(50) NOT NULL default 'Sonic Article Bot',

`event` varchar(100) NOT NULL default '',

`added` timestamp NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,

PRIMARY KEY (`eventid`)

) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

The event inserted into the table is:

* xx emails parsed (where xx equals the number of emails)

The script will be run from a cron job, but should also be able to be hit from a browser.

The winning bidder will be given the login info for a POP3 account where the articles are coming in.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
