I’m looking for a coder or talented student to produce a type of social networking application using Ruby on Rails. The web application will combines social networking and class notes, i.e. combination of [url removed, login to view] and mynoteit.com. The social community site will be oriented to students. Student should has a personal page (with photo, personal messages and friends) and a shared class/year page where all students from the same class/year may upload their homework, class notes, test exams, video clips, etc. This project development plan will have several phases. Phase 1 ??" base social network functionality (this request); Phase 2 ??" base notes functionality (future request); Phase 3 - tweaking and adding features (future request). This ‘bid request’ is just for 1st phase, i.e. phase 2 and 3 is not part of this project but will be given to the same provider if phase 1 is acceptable. Phase 1 functionality (base social community functionality): 1. Personal page; 2. Blog; 3. Mailbox; 4. Friends; 5. Groups; 6. Simple forum; 7. Images; 8. File uploading; 9. Rating system; 10. Search; 11. Events; 12. Admin panel. You will receive more detailed spec before the bid finalization.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
