We're looking for a standalone Symbian component that enables recording audio from the phone microphone, converting the audio to AAC format? and sending the recorded audio frame by frame to a local UDP socket. The audio will be received by a local Java ME application that is out of the scope for this project. The component is controlled by the Java application through the same UDP socket by means of a very simple API.
**Important notes**: (1) We have at present a complete working? implementation of this component with **AMR codec** we will share with the developer. The actual work to be done is **to change the AMR enconding to AAC**. This may require recording in PCM and later encoding to AAC. (2) The component should work on all Symbian 9.x S60 3rd Ed. handsets (e.g. N73, N95 and others).
## Deliverables
Automatic start of the service component after the installation and on the phone restart is required (start after the phone restart is implemented in the existing component).
