Truck tracker

Budget $500 - $900 USD
Bids 51
Average Bid $596

MS Access or Intranet based database to track a variety parts shipped via several trucks to a vendor or to the construction site.

The original system was built using a DOS database many years ago in a couple of days and was used until a while back when the computers were replaced.

We need to collect the following information for each Job: job name{15}, customer{25}, start date{date}, target completion date{date}, ship-to-address

Section I

1. Drawing #{10}, [Item{10} (lookup1), description{60}, weight{#}], quantity{number}, source{15} (lookup2), comment{60}, origin{15} (lookup3)

2. Die #{10}, Length{number} (feet and inches to [url removed, login to view]). finish{15}(lookup4), quantity{number} and comment{60}

3. Set a job active or inactive.

Add all of the entries together so the total number required is accumulated for each item and stored when changed.

## Deliverables

Section II

Collect information about a given delivery truck:

1. Source{15}(lookup2), destination{25}(lookup5), shipper{25}(lookup6), date shipped{date}

Section III

Load items on a truck:

1. Select from the items from Section I, view the quantity to be shipped, enter the quantity shipped, deduct that from the total number store the new total number.

Reports to see:

All items for a job, all jobs in the system, all trucks for a job, all items on a truck, items to be shipped for a job, all items to be shipped. Total weight of a truck, for an individual item all drawing #s that apply, for an individual item all jobs that apply, for an individual item and job, which truck is it on, We want to colorize the report by source so it is easily visible. On reports relating to items from Lookup 3, display the appropriate color background for the first or second column of the report.

This will be a working system, used by professionals who are familiar with the data and perhaps data entry people, so the ability to use the system with speed such as a spreadsheet data entry where the passable items are visible and only the numbers need to be entered for each can be 123, tab or down arrow, 123. In addition to a record by record entry form.

Access 2003 and an Intranet are available so it could be web based. The number of users could be as many as 7 at the same time, but more often 1-2.

The number inside the {}s are estimated field length to hold what we need as I know it at the moment.

Lookup Details:

1. Extract from Inventory database, items can be added on the fly.

2. A small number of locations GT and other sources of material.

3. 4 Items right now, Fabricated(Blue), inventory{yellow}, Direct Ship(green), Outsourced item(Orange)

4. 5 items right now, Mill, Painted, Anodized, Abraided, Galvanized

5. Job site names (perhaps from the Jobs table and some vendors sites when items sent to be galvanized on the way to the job.)

6. Name of shipping companies used (perhaps a small table with particulars phone, contact person, comments about the shipper)

Version 1.c dated 6/6/08 9:28 AM

    ## BIO **Attention Bidders! We are a seven year old professional software consulting firm consisting of nine employees with an established reputation and experience with Microsoft technologies.** Founded in 2000, Freisoft Consulting Services, Inc. (pronounced ‘fry-soft’) is a privately owned software development company that provides custom software development services and IT staffing to both small businesses and corporate enterprises. Since its founding, Neil Konitzer continues to serve as the corporate president and is committed to maintaining Freisoft as a software technology leader. Competing in today's marketplace requires a diverse set of talents and an open approach to software development. We have assembled a team of computer professionals that combines the experience of seasoned veterans with the vision of a new generation to create a fresh approach to changing markets. Our in-house team is comprised of Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) ranging from large to small company backgrounds with a reputation for developing award winning software applications. Our technical staff includes programmers, project managers, software testers, database administrators, and trainers that take pride and initiative in the work performed and strive for nothing less than satisfiable results with the completed delivered product. Freisoft ensures that all software project planning adheres to the ideology of the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) for software development. MSF is a collection of models, principles, and practices that help organizations to be more effective in their creation and use of technology to solve their business problems. It helps by providing measurable progress and rigorous guidance that is flexible enough to meet the changing needs of an organization. Using the MSF methods, a prospective software application is well planned and designed from the beginning and results in minimum re-work toward the final steps of software development. This benefits the client in that they are paying less for quality software products as opposed to other software development agencies that have no standards for software planning using a "code as you go" technique. ## Area of Expertise | **\***| MICROSOFT MOBILE SOLUTIONS PARTNER \***| \***| MICROSOFT WINDOWS EMBEDDED PARTNER \***| \***| MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS ON STAFF \***|** | | * Software Development * .NET (VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#) * Visual Basic 6.0 * Crystal Reports * Microsoft Office (VBA) * Java * C/C++ * Perl * SQL Server * Oracle * XML/XSLT * ColdFusion * Cocoa * Flash/ActionScript * Web Services * AJAX | * Systems Engineering * MS Windows Server Administration * MS Sharepoint Services & Portal * MS Exchange * LAN/WAN Administration <!-- --> * Software Project Management * Project Management * Technical Writing * Change Management * Quality Assurance <!-- --> * Platforms * Windows Client * Windows Web (IIS) * Windows CE / Pocket PC * Tablet PC * Smartphone |
