I have a script that receives information from a website run by an article distribution service, and inserts the article, and author, etc, into a database on my site.
I want to use a similiar technique on 2 of my web sites, one sending data and one receiving data. I need the php code for the sending site. Most of the data is in simple small fields, maybe 6 to 20 characters in length. There is one large field that could be 5k to 10k in size. No binary data, just text characters.
I would need a simple form to accept the data, and the php code that "sends" the data to the other site. The sites are NOT on the same server. I would supply the php code from the "receiving" site.
this is pseudo code for the receiving program.
field1 is an integer field
field2 is a string field, max 12 characters
field3 is a string field, max 100 characters
field4 is a text field, capable of up to 10,000 characters (if there is some limit and 10K is too big I can lower this to 6K)
field5 is a date/time field
I have all the working code to connect to the database. If this outline looks good to your plans for this project, I just need you to supply the correct mySQL insert based on above field types, and any code required to "receive" the data sent by the sending program. I will fill in the rest.
echo "You do not have authority to view this page!";
$link = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpasswd)
or die ("Could not connect to MySQL");
or die ("Could not select database $dbname");
mysql_query("INSERT INTO table1(field1, field2, field3, field4, field5)
VALUES(postvalue1, postvalue2, postvalue3, postvalue4, postvalue5)
