We currently have multiple websites (one main site plus 4-5 sites dedicated to specific services we offer)...they are all of the same exact design/layout, just different colors to fit each theme. In addition to that we have 1 mobile site (that each of our sites will forward you to if your on a mobile phone).
We are thinking about doing a complete re-design...with the main reason being to have a RESPONSIVE DESIGN that will AUTOMATICALLY adjust the design to fit whatever kind of screen you are using (desktop, laptop, tablet, pad, and any kind of cell phone). In reality we like our current design quite a bit...its around only 2 or so years old and we get compliments on it all the time (but it probably wouldn't work well for a responsive design). However since I have discovered this responsive design option...I think this could be the way to go as with all the evolving technology and the higher use of tablets/etc. Plus our current mobile site does get neglected (with responsive I only have 1 site to update for the mobile and main sites).
Focusing on our main site...it has a growing number of menu options, I think we're up to 14 with potentially more coming soon. I think a nice idea for this would be to make a few main menu options and then use the "hover" coding to where you hover over an option and a drop down menu appears with the other menu options.
Our service is very multimedia driven (pictures and video)...these help sell our service more than anything ("a picture is worth 1000 words"). Obviously content is still king...but we need to be able to effectively continue to incorporate pics/vids into a new site.
As far as the other 4-5 service specific sites. These would like now, be the same design/etc...we'd just tweak the color scheme to fit the service...so there would only be one complete site designed and then just colors tweaked for the others.
We have all of our own content, pictures, videos, logos, etc...so none of that needs to be created.
We'd still like to somehow use some of the same things from our current site (certain features, graphics, etc).
There will need to be some kind of photo gallery that can be used.
We're obviously looking for an ORIGINAL ONE OF A KIND DESIGN...something classy/fancy/etc that will fit our company.
This is a big thing...I do not think I want a CMS/etc (unless you can show me one I can try and I fall in love with it)...as up until this point in all the years we've had a site and I've done web stuff on my own...I have done everything manually via coding/etc (using Dreamweaver). I would potentially be open to trying a CMS or something like that...but I'd really have to like it/etc for that to happen.
I will provide our site(s) URLs via PM only that you can look at them if interested. Also there could be a small chance we change our minds (or find someone elsewhere to do this project). As far as budget cheaper the better, but we do want good quality work...so it COULD be flexible.
I MUST see examples of your previous work with responsive designs and web designs in general. Ideally I'd like to see a mock of a design for our site...but I know thats hard to do. You must speak fluent English, have good communication skills and be available through IM (Skype, Yahoo, AIM, whatever) so that we can talk regularly. Also I expect regular updates. No up front payments of any kind. All monies will be delivered once we are satisfied with the work.
I think/hope that covers everything...though I'm sure I have missed something. Ask any questions via PM (if you've applied to this job elsewhere do not apply again). Thanks for your time!
