I am working on a project that users the UserPro plugin, found here:

The plugin allows for clean and simple front end user accounts. It allows for a 'follower' system, but we don't use that. All we need are the profiles (have that), the shortcode output for a list of active users (have that) , and the following (need this):
Our project needs a private messaging system between users. This would be a function that allows users to freely message each other, without being 'Connections' or 'Friends.' Each chat would need a 'block' button, so that user could not message you any more if you wish.
From the list of active users on the site, you would click a) the user's profile picture or b) a message icon, to open up the chat window. Each chat would need to be tagged in a MySQL database with a start time, so it could be wiped after 30 days of inactivity. During those 30 days, the chat would need to remain active, so the users would need an area to access their chat history.
I would envision the chats looking something like this, with the userpro images and profile info available for me to integrate:

The design of the chat function and chat history would need to be mobile responsive, as well.
