Project Description

We have set of Java 16 classes and consisting of approximately 5000 lines of code.

We require that this assembly is audited by an expert for the following:

General Best Practices in Java
Best Practices for Data Access
Logging
Exception Handling
Database Exception Handling
Security
Performance running in a desktop application
Performance and Safety running in a web application
Potential for Refactoring

There are multiple issues with the classes that we are aware of. We require that an expert documents additional issues *and* also provides recommendations and solution for the issues found.

For example, the data access in the classes uses string concatenation to generate SQL statements.

We're looking at accept multiple bids on this project, the next phase of which will be to implement changes suggested.

Obviously individuals selected for this project will receive preferential treatment during bidding in the next phase of the project. In addition, this is a small part of a major ongoing project for us and work will be heavily scrutinized, however bonuses will be given out for good work and findings outside of what we already know.

Bidders should highlight: Expertise in Java, Expertise with Java Best Practices. Sun Certified or IBM Certified professionals will be weighed heavily


## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.


2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
