On our Joomla site we use jDownloads to upload/download files. We want the URL to stay hidden, so thats why we use jDownloads. However jDownloads seems to be having problems with large file uploads.
When I upload a large file through FTP to my jdownloads folder and create a download of it, jDownloads tells me the file is 0kb while it actually is 120MB. There is no problem with small files (3MB .mp3).
jDownloads includes this message:
jDownloads use normally a PHP Script for submit the file. The exact place from the file is then also not to seen. With very big files (a few hundred MB), it may be true that it comes to timeouts. When you deactivate this option, the pure download link is sended to the browser for download the file.
I think the script is timed out using larger files. Ive asked the server provider to set the following PHP settings, but it didnt help either:
max_input_time 1800
memory_limit 256M
post_max_size 140M
upload_max_filesize 140M
URL on request
