Project Description

First, let me say this, for those of you who might find it objectionable: this involves a sex-toys, adult-content, website.

We have developed an ecommerce site using the latest versions of Joomla! and Virtuemart.

We have added a number of products and are now in the process of adding more.

I will need someone to modify the template for the product description (product details) page.

This will require knowledge of the phoca gallery software ([url removed, login to view]).

We are also using the AllVideosREloaded component ([url removed, login to view]).

(I will also consider alternatives to the phoca gallery or video player if you can make a good case for it.)

We enabled the processing of plugins within Virtuemart so that both the gallery and the video player can be displayed in the product description page.

The current product details page for one of our products can be seen at:

[url removed, login to view];flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=42&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53

The above page is, of course, a first attempt and we would like to modify the layout so as to have 2 columns, with the gallery and video player on the left column and the description, price, add-to-cart button, color, and quantity picker on the right. You can see an example of the 2-column layout that we want the page to have in the attached [url removed, login to view] file and also at [url removed, login to view]

After looking at the attached JPG file, you might notice that the phoca gallery's thumbnails and the large image might have to be resized in order to fit within the left column of the page--so you will need to find a way to do this.

Also, it is our wish to implement the gallery so that once the user clicks on the product thumbnail for the desired color (or flavor, or size), that color is automatically picked in the color chooser drop down. (To see an example of this look at [url removed, login to view] page is also an example of how we would like our product page to look).

All of the above modifications could be quite complicated and time-consuming to implement.

Therefore, I would like you to propose a plan to deliver the project in stages and milestones.

The reason for this is twofold:

1. It satisfies the client's need to see continuous and consistent progress within a short period of time; and

2. Serves to prevent you from holding my project and money hostages, as I had it happen recently when someone would neither deliver as promised nor communicate with me.

So, I will require you to submit me a bid that specifies these milestones, timeframes, and prices.

I would also like you to keep me informed daily of your progress, if only by a quick email.

As a suggestion, you may break the project into 3 milestones (you can submit your own milestones):

1. Modification of the gallery component to create thumbnails main image small enough to fit and work correctly within the left column of the page;

2. Modification of the template to position and accommodate the gallery, video player, descripton, etc. into 2 columns; and

3. Implementation of the feature whereby color/flavor/size are chosen via thumbnail clicking.

Regarding #1 above, we were thinking of using the filename to indicate the color, but if the gallery component supports adding a descriptive attribute to the image record (image information is stored in the phoca gallery database) and displaying it for the user, it might allow us to assign the same color or attribute to more than one image, which might be necessary at times.

I will also require you to provide documentation as to where existing code was modified or added to implement the above features (except for modifications to the template which will be contained in the template that you create). This will facilitate possible future enhancements and maintenance.

Ideally, I would like to complete the above in less than 2 weeks.

Feel free to ask for more information, explanations, or clarifications.

Thank you for bidding.
