Project Description

When a visitor leaves our web site by closing the browser window or by going to another site (other than our site), we need a script that temporarily stops them from leaving and presents a message in HTML format. It should work similarly to an exit pop on a site called Please go to that site, click on Order Now in the lower right corner, then close the browser window to see how the script gets called and what it does for the user.

We want the same kind of functionality you see there: the graying out of the browser window (with transparency that we can adjust) and the layout of a message area with background colors and room to put in graphics (use a 400 x 300 area size for the message for now). We want to avoid the javascript popup if possible, but I understand this is an IE thing. There should be a clear way for the user to close this screen if they choose to do so.

The key functionality here is that the exit popup screen comes up when the visitor closes the browser window or when they go to a different site. It's possible our payment page would be on a different site, so that URL would need to be protected.? On our site, there will likely be a navigation bar with links to other pages within the site. Some code could be placed within the anchor tags of the links to make these links "immune" from the script popping up.

We need to be able to adjust the message area size easily.

Please make sure the code for this project is your original code.
