I'm developing a real estate website. I want either one of two things.
1. A Virtual Earth Map like [url removed, login to view] that automatically repopulates the number of available listings based on the what's visible in the map. The user may be able to zoom in completely, but searchers may only narrow down to a 5(or similar) square mile box. (if possible).
2. If not VE, I would accept a Google Map. In this case, I would want the user to be able to "draw" the area that they would be willing to live with the polygon tool. Again the search would not need to be more defined than 5 miles squared or so, but street view functionality will be nice.
I have written the code in PHP for the listing population. All listings are supplied with longitude and latitude from the mysql database. This map will also have the functionality of the [url removed, login to view] site to narrow the selections based on minimum BR, price, etc. And provide the matching criteria BELOW the map, like Zillow, or possibly in the right-hand column like windermere.
I can work with the design. I just need someone to help with the functionality, or basically, provide a template for me to plug in the php code.
I already have designed a flyer. The listing summary will just open my designed flyer in a new window. There is no need to have the flyer beside the map like at windermere.
I DO NOT WANT TO SHOW THESE LISTINGS POINTED ON THE MAP. MLS REGULATIONS STATE THAT WE CANNOT SHOW ADDRESSES.
Does anyone think they can help?
If interface to data and exact use-cases will be provided, i can do it pretty fast :) Have a huge experience working with Google Maps but probably will be able to handle Virtual Earth as well.
