Here are the main requirements:
1) The bookmarklet must be "installed" by dragging a button to the toolbar of the browser. Please follow the link here ([url removed, login to view]) to see an example by Pinterest. Scroll down to the "The Pin It Button" section. There should be a big, red button that says "Pin It". This is what we'd like. If you see the red button say "Install Now", then click the link underneath the paragraph that says "Pinterest Bookmarklet". The button will change to "Pin It".
2) Bookmarklet must first check that the person is logged into our site, before the user can bookmark. If user is already logged in, go straight to the bookmark form. If the user is not logged in, a small form (with username and password fields) will appear for them to log into our site. Bookmarklet must perform proper authentication. Once logged in, bookmark form will appear with required fields for the user to fill in. We can provide examples if needed.
3) Once user clicks save on the bookmarklet, script must save the appropriate data to our database.
Remember, this is all being done within the bookmarklet. The user will not be on our site in this process, although they will be authenticating and saving content to it.
Preferably, we are looking for a developer with prior experience working with bookmarklets but it is not required.
At completion, the developer must provide a set of files that demonstrate the above functionality. We will provide the database information, milestones, and further details upon project acceptance.
Thanks and we appreciate your help.
