Project Description

***I'm in search of a coder to supply 3-5 eCommerce projects per month. The below is a trial project to test your abilities***

Objectives

1. To demonstrate your ability and professionalism in working with CSS, PHP, Javascripts, Joomla & its components;

2. To demonstrate your ability in delivering fundamental & typical tasks which will appear in projects with Crease Media in the future.

The Task

Upgrade the current existing website of crease media into the nominated server with the following:

- upgrade an existing site [url removed, login to view] from old Joomla version (v.1.0.2) to version 1.5.2+ into the new development server( see below for details);

- retain the same design layout as the existing site;

- retain the existing components or find an equivalent which is compatible with the version 1.5.2+

eg. Install the latest version JCE Editor component for the Admin as the existing version would be outdated for the new version;

- retain the existing database to transfer over to the new one;

- apply the following new components:

- install this free component for blog ([url removed, login to view]) design for it will be provided;

- apply an SEF for both languages (spanish and english);

- apply a poll in the RHS (Right-Hand-Side);

- retain Joomfish for the multi-languages but upgrade it to make it compatible with v.1.5.2+

- apply cc newsletter to replace 'Letterman' component retaining the existing templates and functionalities;

-Apply Javascript to Portfolio window: it should open in a pop-up fixed window width & height without browser tools showing;

- Retain the javascript for the menu and sub-menus;

Points to Consider:

* The LHS (Left-Hand-Side) columns & RHS columns should allow for future inserts of jpgs, gifs, articles (static) short descriptions, and swf files;

* The ccNewsletter should allow a customizable CSS to be used in its editor to apply to templates (similar to how it is now with Letterman);

* The portfolio section is the key part of this website so please be sure to retain the way it was built, if in doubt, ask ;

* be sure to work directly off the development server (details below) for me to monitor your progress at a daily basis;

Crease will upload actual content.

Key points for Delivery:

1. Test the website in both Mac/PC (explorer 6+, firefox 3+, Safari 3+) for consistency in layout issues for CSS compatibility;

This is crucial that you show good ability in testing your own work without my involvement;

2. note: I'd want a simple change-log of all code alterations & code comments on the PHP files where needed. change-logs should include:

- date & name of coder;

- name & path of file where code was changed;

- line number of the lines changed

Inside the files, there should be comments with short descriptions of the task under // tags;

email me the change-logs on a daily basis or at bare minimum every 2 working days to show your progress;

3. Your ability in understanding & executing how SEF works for multi-languages and compatibility between the free components for Joomla

budget: $150

bonus: $50 if provider provides good level of testing and meets deadline

deadline: within 7 working days of project award (allow 3 full days to test & troubleshoot prior to due date)
