Seria Booking

A booking website where people can check the availability of any type of resource, such as rentable cars, meeting rooms or even doctor appointments. The project must be developed using PHP 5 and a MySQL 5 database. Function must be seperate from design, which means that you first must create a complete object oriented API for managing the database, then a simple front-end for that uses the API. ## Deliverables The final software must do the following: Customer (C) wants a booking solution for his website, so that his employees can book meeting rooms and the company car. The meeting rooms are booked on an half-hourly basis, and the car is booked on a daily basis. Reservations can have an unconfirmed status. *Please note that much of the functionallity will be implemented by us, using our own back-office system, so when I say that the customer uses API-calls - it actually means that the customer use his own back office system which is developed by us.* (C) contacts us and we create a customer account using API-calls. (C) can then add/edit/delete item types using API-calls. (C) then recieves an URL leading to a booking page for that item type. (C) can publish this URL on his website or on his intranet. The booking page might require user login which must be created by you. Also a simple user registration page is required. An employee (U) visits the booking page and can instantly see which times are available/unavailable. The layout of this page depends on the time unit that the item can be booked (daily basis means a calendar look, while hourly basis requires a different layout). When (U) want to create a reservation, and visually selects the time that the reservation is for. (C) regularly performs API calls to fetch new information from the database about booking times. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Jan 30, 2008 1:43:09 PM: Some clarifications: If the deadline of 21 days cannot be held, we will extend the deadline. What must be in working condition within 21 days is the public section of the site; the user registration, login and the actual booking process. We do not need any administrative tools - only the API commands to be able to create users, customers and set up the bookable resources.
