Project Description

Theatre Centre seeks a freelance web developer to support its existing website (as [url removed, login to view]). We're keen to find someone who we can develop a strong relationship with: we're constantly developing as an organisation, and we are keen that our website evolves with us.

We are a professional theatre company touring to children and young people. A registered charity, Theatre Centre has been taking outstanding new plays to schools and venues since 1953. We work closely with artists, young people and teachers to ensure we consistently create high-quality, life-enhancing theatre experiences for young audiences.

Theatre Centre’s previous web developers designed and delivered our existing website last year. They also designed and delivered a 60th Birthday microsite add-on earlier this year. Unfortunately, the company we worked with have ceased the web development side of their business, which leaves us looking for someone to the website: [url removed, login to view]

We’re looking for someone who we can engage on a freelance basis to lend ongoing support and, in the first instance, apply some tweaks to the existing website.

It is essential that the web developer we engage has experience in working with bespoke Content Managed System websites that use back-end technologies PHP, MySQL & Smarty templating; and front-end HTML, CSS & javascript.

An interest in, or experience working with, organisations in the cultural or theatre sectors would be an advantage. (Although, please note that Theatre Centre is not a venue and we do not handle ticket sales via our own website.)

We're seeking someone who we can develop a lasting, productive relationship with - we're a friendly bunch, and would love to hear from you if you've got the skills and energy we're looking for.
