Project Description

Hello. I am looking to have Commission Junction affiliate feeds imported as individual product threads in VBulletin. Meaning, there are zip files contained in a directory on my server that I get from CJ daily. I am looking to have each one automatically unzipped then each of those files each are to be imported into a Vbulletin forum individually as new threads (or "pages" if you will) found when a user performs a search.

- if the exact same URL already exists, we'd skip that product altogether and move on to the next one to import.

- if the exact same DESCRIPTION or IMAGE_URL already exists in the database, we would skip as well.

Some of the product files can get quite large - for instance Best Buy has an XML file that unzips to 100mb's I believe. This script import will need to be able to handle such large files efficiently without timeouts etc.. The server handling things is powerful with double-digit gigs of ram and dual quad core processing.

Ideally this would be written for VB5 (formally titled "VBulletin Connect" on their website) which was only recently released, but VB4 is acceptable. I am looking for a 3-4 day turnaround from the time the bidder accepts this project. Looking for relatively speedy turnaround and willing to pay for quick completion. If you aren't extremely well versed with both VBulletin and PHP, please do not bid. If english is not your primary language, please also refrain as I need confusion from language barriers to be kept to a minimum with this gig so as not to impede completion thank you!
