Develop a dynamic U.S. Map , with additional 'side" markers for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico. This map will have "PushPin" markers inserted , one per state/territory with a numeric value - data will be pulled from a database, Font sizes on pins must be able to handle 4 digit numbers (up to 9999 )
The application must be stand alone, and able to accept submitted data (Typically, a MySQL query will be executed, results processed in php, and appropriate data fed to the flash application. You just write the app, and advise what data needs to be sent to it and in what format.
For example, we may have 53 pairs of data - each containing the State, and the Value - such as this: PA=>12,TX=>97,NY=>144,RI=>2,CA=>2147 - Each state should have just ONE marker, suitably positioned so as to not overlap too much with any other marker - markers may vary in sizes, etc as required.
That data must be accepted by the application (We will NOT provide any access to our web server for the purpose - we MUST be able to pass compiled data to the application - in whatever format you may choose it to be in - array, POST, String, Serialized, Etc. ) and the application will generate map markers with number values and placed appropriately to each state / territory
For an example of what we would like to see, you only need to visit an eBay seller that is using MyStoreMaps application ([url removed, login to view]). - What we are looking for will be *similar* to that. It may be possible to develop the application using Google Maps API which would also be completely acceptable, as long as it looks good, and fits within a 500px wide web page column - - Basically, we'll pull data from our database, and compile it into whatever format is necessary, but it will contain only state and shipment count information, ideally. Since we only need one marker per state, geocoding is un-necessary.
The application will be embedded into a web page (also by us), called in to the page by php code (which at the same time, passes the data to the application)
Examples of past work would be appreciated - We have no problem paying for quality work,
