Project Description

This site will basically function like Wikipedia but for a different purpose and must use the Mediawiki platform. This website will classify, link and categorize user generated content and make some simple calculations derived from the content, from which a variable(s) and a historic graph/chart (like a stock price graph on Google finance) will be calculated and displayed.

Basically the work is to modify mediawiki with a custom skin for a wiki type of site to link, categorize and present public user submitted information using the features already built-in to mediawiki in a slightly different way.

Requirements:

MUST BE DONE IN MEDIAWIKI OR SEMANTIC MEDIAWIKI AND YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN EITHER PLATFORM. DO NOT APPLY OTHERWISE.

Project Description:

-Wiki type of site for public user generated content. Customization of mediawiki skin and content presentation required to produce a cleaner look than Wikipedia.

-Ability to classify, link and categorize user generated content (including such tools like polls, etc.).

-Calculate a figure related to the wiki content and displayed on a historic chart/graph (graphs to operate similar to the graphs in google finance) and present calculated output based on wiki content. Relatively simple calcuations (basic math, averages, percentages, etc.). Will require the addition of mediawiki math and other extensions.

-Ability to selectively compare the wiki content and figures calculated.(ie. Using select/check boxes to compare.)

-Customize menus, pages and forms as required.

-Payment system required for the site to accept donations.

-Ability for users to save their favourite content, searches and site preferences/settings. (some of these capabilities may already be in Mediawiki or just need fine tuning)

-Content search/sorting/display functions according to user input.(some of these capabilities may already be in Mediawiki or just need fine tuning)

-Ensure that the site is ready with multi-language support (Mediawiki has multi-language support built-in, just ensure it's ready). English will be used in initial deployment.

-Ensure that the site is reasonably protected against the most common forms of abuse and malicious attacks.

-Ensure that the site database can be migrated and backed up remotely via a secure administration interface.

-No Logo required, I already have one.

-No ads or Facebook or Twitter required.
