Project Description

On 05/05/2010 I posted the following project for bids

Programmer needed to duplicate functions found on this website [url removed, login to view]

I need to implement a quote system that functions almost exactly as the one on the above website. The project must be installable on Joomla 1.5 sites and be administered from the administration section. Open to other ways of implementation and administration if needed. No check out or payment functions needed.

The example website is exactly what we need!

The project was supposed to take 10 days and so far it has stretched to almost 3 months. I have terminated the project with the previous person and was given the files that were completed. Not everything is working correctly but the main layout work and administrative back end is done. I need someone to take over and finish this project.

What I have.

The component was installed on a sample website and I have the backup files for that site. The format of the front looks very much like the site in the example and the back end is working…

The admin section has an editor to enter and change the text on the front page, above the data entry boxes. This all seems to work fine. There is also a tab for uploading files to change the items and prices listed in the quote system… The way the programmer set this up is as follows. He made a Excel spreadsheet for each of the sections listed in the quote… There are about 6 files , one for drinks, one for deserts, one for side order substitutions etc….. You make changes to the items on the spread sheet and then use the admin section to upload the new xml files. This also seems to be working fine and is ok for our use, if it is working….

The mail a quote system is working but may need a few format changes….

What I need…

The math is not working properly and will need to be fixed… My customer has a formula for determining the price of the item that is dependent on the amount of people and the type of services required.. Example… Price for item is [url removed, login to view] If 50 people order it for delivery. IF 76 people order it for catering then the price is 6.95. This is a simple formula and is suppose to be implemented in the system… I do not know where and if it is working. I need it checked and then I need to know how to change the formula if my client wants it changed.

The prices shown on the second page of the example quote system is DEPENDANT on the information entered on the first page of the Quote system (number of people and type of service) SO if I enter 5 people for pickup on the first page that information is used to determine the prices shown on the second page where you select the items for the order… This Is the way it is done on the example site. IT is not working that way on the files I have and needs to be fixed.

The first programmer must have taken some of the files from the example site and used them… He did use the example site name for identifying the component as I see those names on the files I have.. The files need to be renamed to com-quote and the mail from needs to be changed..

When you look at the example website please note the delivery selection box... That site has --------- as the first entry you see. The programmer I used has "Location$" showing as the first entry.. That is also the format on the next page for all the items... Instead of having the first item in the list be "Hot Dog" he has "Item Name $" Looks like he is using the fist line as the formula in the xml sheet it is showing... Looks very unprofessional and needs changed...

In summary I just need someone to take what I have and make the math work right and make a few small changes. The goal is to end up with a quote system that works exactly like the one in the example.
