I will be building the whole site using Joomla (version 3) and will send over a near completed site except for the bits that I will doing.
The site is an insurance quote and buy site and has a number of products which have a minimum value of £200 (not shown to the customer) which is then added to the value of the collection by the % shown in the ratings sheet. The customer goes through the journey filling out their details and at the end has the option to buy (goes off to 3rd party) or send direct debit details, so account no. etc to the admin who will set up the direct debit on their behalf.
Things that need to be done.
The products need to be added together into a final total for when a person checkouts. Products in the backend must be easy to add and and remove including the % value, and then reflected in the frontend. Provisions have been made to allow this in the design, so dropdown menus, extra space to allow more products etc.
Customer details need to be collected. In the backend a custom admin module needs to be built so when a user buys a product (including sending direct debit instructions) an account is created, all those details are stored, including what they have bought, the amount etc. Admin will also need to be able to download the policy documents. These policy documents are created from the details the user has filled in.
On the frontend a user needs to have an account created automatically after a purchase is confirmed (username, password created automatically and sent via email) in order to login and download the policy documents (pdf format) which are created on the fly with the users details.
We have done something almost the same as this but with only 3 products ([url removed, login to view] It works OK and was built in Joomla 1.5. The problems is that it has hacked all the joomla code (user accounts etc) and so updating the site (to a more recent version of Joomla) becomes a complete rebuild and not an easy task. Hence the customizations I require without hacking in (or as little a possible) to the joomla code. I imagine that there will need to be some customization to VirtueMart also.
The job is to start on the 15th July and I will need it back by the Fri 16th August (remembering that all html will be done and templates etc set up in Joomla before you receive it). It is imperative that it is delivered on time and believe I have given enough time for the work to be done (5 weeks) but would expect it to take less and would like an overall cost rather than an hourly rate.
I will send over wireframes and designs to the winning proposal. Any questions get in touch.
