There are some great open source forum software apps like phpBB and others. These scripts have been well tested across hundreds of sites, patched for vulnerabilities, etc. Because of this, I would like to use something that has these features, but can be modified as follows: I am looking for somebody to modify an open source app (your choice of what to use) that will emulate the myspace GROUPS feature. Basically this is a 'Forums' type script but it allows individual users to go in and create their own forums (groups) and set the settings for that group. If you are not familiar with this, please check out the [url removed, login to view] groups section. You can set forum rules to invitation only, private, public, etc. You can customize the landing page for that group with graphics, images, etc. This will allow thousands of users to have their own custom forums, each with their own moderator (whoever created that forum), with their own 'join rules' and more. Groups can be simple like this: [url removed, login to view] Or they can be modified to be advanced like this: [url removed, login to view] If you do not have experience working with forum software, then please do not bid.
If there is already software on the market that does exactly what I want, is well tested, is secure, etc., then lets please talk about it and work on the modifications I need.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
