I recently purchased a dedicated server and am looking to have it configured to begin web development.
I am looking for an experienced server admin who is comfortable with CentOS to install and configure Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Subversion.
After the above software is configured, you will create a “Hello World” website which responds (with php) to a domain I will provide. This website will demonstrate basic query interaction with the MySQL database, as well as email send capabilities. You will also create a Subversion repository which interacts with the “Hello World” website.
As a developer who has a background in different technologies, I am looking to learn a bit from this as well. I would like for you to provide me with a guide to accomplish the following:
Execute SQL statements via an external tool (if possible)
Manage user access to the Subversion repository
Upload files to the server using FTP (or a different protocol, if something makes more sense than FTP)
I would also like to be able to consult your opinion (paid, of course) if I run into any server issues down the road.
