We need: Windows File Sharing (Samba) Web Server (Apache with PHP) SMTP and POP mail ftp server (ProFTP) WebMail Print Server Windows Printer Sharing AppleShare We will also need a web interface to administer the server. This can use whatever the winning bidder chooses. PHP is preferable, cgi, perl or any other scripting language is acceptable. The package should install easily and be preconfigured to do what it is supposed to without much additional administration. File sharing should be a matter of defining a shared directory and starting Samba (for example) The installion should ask the user what applcations will be needed and install only the packages needed and resolve dependancies. All administration tools should be basic and simple. Adding a user account with e-mail should be a few simple fields. username, password and e-mail address(es). Server monitoring should be available in the web interface as well. Server statisics, logs, graphical statistics such as disk space and network traffic should be available. This should all fit on a single installation CD. It may be based on any linux distribution that is freely available.
