Project Description

A restaurant point of sale (POS) system refers to the software that runs on computers, typically touch screen displays, at restaurants. These systems assist restaurants to track transactions in real time. The restaurant POS system I’m seeking to create is compatible with iOS and Android devices and is intended to be a complete hospitality management system. This system connects directly to an app (on the iOS or Android device) to allow servers to take orders and also permits managers to track operations entirely from their smartphone, iPod, iPad, or tablet. All of the information from the customer interface is connected to the back end interface, allowing managers to have real time information related to inventory, administration, and bookkeeping. This system is designed to provide simplicity for the managers and owners to review restaurant operations. The back end system will also deliver easily accessible clear information in regard to the status of the stocked inventory as well as the demand of each menu item so that restaurants can modify their menus and optimize their sales. Apart from inventory, managers will also have full access to all administrative responsibilities (organizing shifts, payroll, etc.) from the app. The system can also integrate with all restaurants’ current accounting software thus providing consistently and readily available information to track sales. In whole, the entire restaurant system is backed up to a cloud allowing for the information sharing between chain restaurants and the protection of information in the case of a system crash. Collectively, by being directly linked with the customer interface, the back end is able to provide real time information thus maximizing the manager’s awareness of back office management.

The tablet pos system is the new innovation to the restaurant POS market, ideally this system would be designed to have additional back office features, not applicable in other systems, and compatibility with restaurants current central servers to save a hefty installation costs and ultimately creating less expensive package.

I'd prefer to have a partner CTO with this project rather than this being a one time project.

I would love to talk more if interested,
