Bid will be for the development of a social networking site. This site can use existing open source social networking code provided that the base product is not licensed in such a way to require license fees, or redistribution of the modified code.
The finial product will be expected to be a full featured, user friendly, well coded, well documented, and secure web application. The application will be hosted on the coders choice of opensource webserver unless a compelling reason for a paid licensed web server can be provided. IIS will not be considered.
Code language will be the coders choice. Abstracted database libraries are encouraged as database needs may change from the perferred MySQL.
The site will have multiple levels of user accounts. Registered user with a basic interface and limited profile features including the ability to link to contributor accounts as 'fans', and blog. Contributors with full profile capabilities and the ability to upload artwork, media, stories, etc. Moderators with the ability to remove works and posts as needed, and suspend users. Admin with full rights to suspend / ban / delete users, and perform any and all administrative tasks.
The website will need to be developed with growth in mind, and will need to be fast and flexible.
