Project Description

I need an open source and readable (non obfuscated so I can modify it if changes occur) PHP script that will format two CSV files from two manufacturers into two or three database tables which I need for my system.

I want the PHP script to parse the files and load the information into a database.

The two CSV files are basically application guides that include include fitment data. One file is formatted in ACES format and one is in a different format. The hard part is going to be getting the fitment options correct. The ACES formatted file won't be too difficult to work with, but there are 700 different vehicle options that I need to be looked at for the non ACES file. Here's an example:

An option that looks like this: "<b>Drive:</b> Front Wheel Drive<br /><b>Transmission (Type):</b> Automatic" will need to be changed to this: "Front Wheel Drive, Automatic Transmission"

An option like this: "<b>2nd Row Seating Type:</b> Bucket seating" will need to end up looking like this: "2nd Row Bucket Seating"

I want a third database table to contain the original options phrasing and the converted phrasing kind of like this:

options_id, old_options, new_options

1,"<b>Drive:</b> Front Wheel Drive<br /><b>Transmission (Type):</b> Automatic","Front Wheel Drive, Automatic Transmission"

2, "<b>2nd Row Seating Type:</b> Bucket seating","2nd Row Bucket Seating"

I will also need vehicle makes and models in the two CSVs to match vehicle makes an models in my database.

Example on one vehicle:

My Database: 2014,Chrysler,Town & Country

CSV 1: 2014,Chrysler,Town & Country

CSV 2: 2014,Chrysler,Town & Country Van

CSV 2 does not match my database so I would need to have that vehicle name changed from "2014,Chrysler,Town & Country Van" to "2014,Chrysler,Town & Country" This will require a 4th database table very similar to the 3rd one for vehicle options.
