Project Description

This is a project to modify an existing PHP / mysql based point of sale application. The existing application needs to change from a bar-code driven system to a touch screen (or mouse click based) application.

This requires the modification of the database along with a front end operator interface, an admin interface to populate the operator interface and a client web site to allow orders to be placed on-line.

The main operator interface is a matrix (or set of matrices) which present the items for sale by category along with a set of functions to enable the operator to handle all aspects of a busy shop environment. For example creating, changing and deleting customer orders which may received over the counter, over the phone or through the website or mobile phone app and which may be delivered and paid for either over the counter or by delivering to the customer.

The requirements document and the associated images aim to provide a detailed description of what is required, however it is likely that you will have questions which I will be happy to respond to.

Please do not bid for this project if you are not confident that you can complete the job on time, within budget and to a level of quality which will ensure robust operation. If you do not ask enough questions then you will not be considered for this project. It may be complex to understand but I believe it is fairly simple to implement.

The budget is £250 / $400
