Project Description

This modification to my cs-cart v. 2.x will include the following feature to be included in the User Account functionality.

1. Modify the "Wish List" feature to the "Machine's List" feature. The Wish List allows a user, once signed into his/her account, to add products and save them in a "wish list" for future reference. Instead, I want this feature to query the database on machine models, and provide a search box for the customer to do a keyword search on a particular machine model. First, to choose from a drop down list, the manufacturer, then to choose from a seconary drop down list of machine models. Once a machine model is selected, it is saved in a machine's list, similar to how products are stored in the 'wish list'.

The idea is to have one locus where a customer logs into, showing the list of machines they own in their business. Each machine listed will be hyperlinked to another product page that will show query results of all products that are used in that particular machine.

For example, when a user creates the first machine in their machine's list, they would choose a manufacturer, such as Hewlett Packard. Next, they would choose a particular machine model, such as a "laserjet 1020". Then they would click an "ADD" button and this would populate the machine's list within their secure account, such that they would see "Hewlett Packard Laserjet 1020". This description would be hyperlinked, or would have a image button next to this listing, "search for products".

The cs-cart database had already been modified to accommodate the data columns for "Manufacturer", "Machine Model" and "Machine Type".

Please refer to an example photo of how this new feature will appear when a user logs into their account. Photo is attached.
