Provide a platform that;
- Promotes effective communications
- Provides easier access to central information
- Provides a ticketing system that allows for a controlled and reportable system of support requests raised by various departments.
- Data entry forms for data entry (specs attached to give an idea) so will required a platform for the data to be stored and reported if required.
There is a costing spreadsheet attached which breaks the project in sub projects - please use this cost each area so I can appreciate the cost of each of the sub-projects
What I am trying to achieve:
Present a strong argument to a board of directors and demonstrate how certain processes can be improved if they change the way they record, monitor and report that information. They do not understand about software development and the only way this can be demonstrated is through taking a few of the key recording and reporting methods currently used and simplifying them through automating the process and accessing the data real time on a web based platform such as an intranet whilst at the same time giving a simple dashboard of the results in graphical and where relevant in tabular form.
As this is a demonstration solution the cost is to be kept to be a minimum as the bulk of the work will be developed at a later stage. In order of priority and taking into account cost;
1- Web based platform for recording WIP and machining results hosted on the cloud
2- Using the same web based platform a ticketing system specification attached but will go with your input on this as mine is just an attempt to design it so there maybe something out there can be customised
3- Using the same platform sales visits reports (word file will be attached)
- - Log in dependent (once approved will address secure encryption, SSL certs etc)
ABOVE are priority so please cost based on delivering just 1-3 on their own and then 1-3 plus below, separate cost for just below. Cost development of item 1 on its own.
- Simple intranet using open source and not developed from scratch e.g. using Joomla
