gnode Corporation ([login to view URL]) is looking to develop a multi-page (50 or so pages) enhancement to our web site with a Javascript/Frames based front end and Perl and MySQL backend. Requirements are straightforward and detailed specs are available. We are looking for a Perl expert who knows how to write clean code and knows how to do proper error handling. We will begin with a small sub-system with 5 or 6 screens and straightforward updates to the database. This should take no more than 20-40 hours for an experienced coder. If you perform satisfactorily on this one, then you also get to do the follow-up piece which is probably around 120 hours. If you complete this phase satisfactorily also, you can look forward to 10 hours of ongoing support/administration work with us every week. Before you bid, make sure that you meet the following requirements: (1) You must be a Javascript, Frames, Perl and MySQL expert and you must be ready to verify that with a possible test; (2) You must have done at least 3 medium sized sites. We will need references for these three sites. Please make sure that these references are not your uncles and relatives because we will only accept references from genuine project work; (3) You must provide your resume and examples of working Perl/MySQL code; you will also need to demostrate that you understand table JOIN's in MySQL and how to access Frames using Javascript on the front end. Please understand that in the first stage, you are bidding on 40 hours of work. So bid for this only. And, please, please, definitely mention your HOURLY RATE so that we can take that into consideration for the follow on piece of 120 hours and the ongoing support work. We will make a decision taking into account both the current bid and the hourly rate.
