Project Description

We desire a Perl or PHP programmer for ongoing work who is able to create scripts which can utilize the cPanel backup system to create remote backups of cPanel domains and/or entire cPanel/WHM servers, using either the cPanel users login or the root WHM users login (we want scripts which do both). The backups must be incremental, that is, not requiring the entire domain to be transferred but only changed files, databases and emails. Incremental backups are most important to us as the domains will be quite large and cannot be transferred in full daily. The system will eventually need the ability to be able to restore those backed up domains to the remote server. This might be achieved using the cPanel API or another way, such as an NFS mount or such. We do not know, and investigating this is part of this project.

The programmer must show that he or she can write well documented modular Perl or PHP code, and though not required knowledge of cPanel is preferred. If you have nowledge of cPanel please let us know in your reply.

We prefer an hourly rate as this will be an ongoing task and we will pay for all time put into the project, including time investigating the best way to perform this. We assume the task once fully complete (with additional requirements that come up over the months to perfect everything) will take over 100 hours and are willing to pay for all time spent.

This is the first time we've posted a project directly on [url removed, login to view] so please forgive us if the project details are not up to par with other projects. We are seeking a long term relationship with a programmer who will work with us.
